Hi 👋🏻

As budget travellers, our first goal is to create a plan that fits both our budget and our comfort.

But when we sit down to plan, it often takes hours. Add procrastination to that, and the plan either never gets finished, or you’ll suffer during the trip. That is when travelling starts feeling stressful.

Today, I want to help you plan better so you can travel with ease.

S1: Decide the trip shape (Minutes 0 to 10)

Before doing anything, answer three questions.

  • How many days do I have?

  • What kind of trip do I want?

  • What is my rough budget range?

These questions give you a strong starting point. They help you stay focused and prevent you from getting distracted by options that do not fit your trip.

S2: Choose transport (Minutes 10 to 25)

Transport sets the rhythm of the trip. It’s one of the main factors which decide the entire trip cost.

Search flights or trains as soon as the trip purpose is clear.

Look beyond ticket prices. Arrival and departure timings affect a lot in the journey. Landing too early or leaving too late reduces your rest time and stretches travel days.

Once transport is booked, it removes half the mental load of planning.

S3: Choose the area (Minutes 25 to 40)

Accommodation decisions become easier when the area is fixed first.

Search for neighbourhoods where people actually stay, ideally 1 or 2 metro stations away from major tourist spots. This usually brings prices down.

Look for walkable areas with good public transport and food options nearby.

After the area is decided, booking a stay becomes quick and straightforward.

S4: Make a simple daily plan (Minutes 40 to 50)

Planning every hour will make your trips feel overwhelming. Instead, pick one main focus for each day.

It could be a market, a neighbourhood walk, or one major attraction. Keep the rest of the day flexible.

This gives you time to rest, explore, and enjoy the trip properly.

S5: Get ready for the content creation (Minutes 50 to 60)

Since we have learnt that trips can be funded through content, spend 10 minutes thinking about what you will create.

Decide what photos you want to click, what videos you will record, and how you will use them on your social platforms.

Thank you!

Planning takes effort, but when done with focus, it improves the travel experience significantly. Good trips are built before you leave.

I’ll see you on Thursday. Till then, keep travelling.

See ya!
