Whenever we travel to a new place, we try to travel as much as possible, just as we eat whenever we get AYCE opportunities.
But that’s not how it always works, because we have less time and we go with an itinerary. But we can, and we should stay longer in fewer cities.

The hidden cost
If we are flying all the way to Europe or Asia, it feels like we’re doing justice to money to see three cities instead of one, staying here and there, taking trains or buses almost every damn day. It makes your trip poorer. You remember I told you about the Mexican couple I met in Jaipur? They love slow travelling, and they have a plan to visit 3-4 countries in a year. That means 3 months per country. So they can experience their travel in the best possible way.
Every time you change cities, you are starting again. New hotel, new room and new streets to figure out. New decisions about where to eat and how to move around. Even if it all runs smoothly, your hae to give attention to the logistics.
By the time you start to feel comfortable in that place, you are packing again. And it’s the exact opposite of improving the experience of travel.
