Hi 👋🏻

Long-haul flights are exhausting, but with the right approach, they can be far more manageable.

All you need is a little planning, which goes a long way in helping you arrive feeling rested instead of drained.

Choose the right seat

Window vs aisle

If you want uninterrupted sleep, choose a window seat so you can lean comfortably and control the light. If you prefer to move around often, an aisle seat gives you easier access without disturbing others.

Avoid high-traffic areas

Seats near galleys and restrooms tend to be noisier. Picking a quieter section of the cabin can make a noticeable difference in your comfort.

Dress for comfort

Wear breathable layers

Cabin temperatures can vary, so dressing in layers helps you stay comfortable throughout the flight. Loose, breathable clothing is always a better choice than tight outfits.

Use compression socks

Compression socks improve circulation and reduce swelling, especially on flights longer than eight hours.

Stay hydrated

Drink water regularly

Aeroplane cabins are dry, which can quickly lead to dehydration. Keep sipping water throughout the flight rather than drinking large amounts at once.

Limit caffeine and alcohol

Both can dehydrate you and disrupt your sleep, making it harder to adjust when you arrive.

Sleep strategically

Align with your destination time

Start adjusting to your destination’s time zone as soon as you board. This helps reduce the impact of jet lag.

Create a sleep setup

An eye mask, neck pillow, and earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones can make it much easier to fall asleep mid-flight.

Plan your entertainment

Download content in advance

Do not rely entirely on in-flight entertainment. Download movies, shows, podcasts, or books so you always have something to enjoy.

Keep devices charged

Carry a power bank and charging cables to avoid running out of battery during the flight.

Move your body

Stretch regularly

Simple stretches in your seat can prevent stiffness and discomfort.

Walk when possible

Try to stand up and walk down the aisle every couple of hours to improve circulation.

Pack an essentials kit

Include personal care items

Carry lip balm, moisturiser, hand sanitiser, and a toothbrush to stay fresh during the journey.

Keep important items handy

Medications, travel documents, and a pen should always be within easy reach.

Be smart about food

Pre-order special meals

If you have dietary preferences, pre-order your meal in advance to avoid limited options onboard.

Bring your own snacks

Healthy snacks will keep your energy levels stable and reduce reliance on airline food.

Thank you!

Proper planning is all it takes. Focus on the right approach. Everything will be easy!

See you on Thursday!
